A qualified consultant trichologist is hair and scalp specialist. Your hair is an excellent barometer of your overall health therefore, Trichologists take a holistic approach when diagnosing and treating your hair and scalp problems. We understand the psychological impact of hair loss which can often be underestimated by GP’s and other medical professionals. An initial consultation with a Trichologist usually takes around one hour, this allows us to get a very in depth understanding of your concerns enabling us to reach a diagnosis. In a busy GP practice the average appointment time is just ten minutes.
Most private health insurance companies will not cover Trichology, it is therefore recommended you contact your insurance provider directly to check. If your health insurance does agree to cover your appointment costs you will be required to pay the consultation fee in full at the time of your appointment. We will provide you with a receipt and you will be responsible for making the claim to your insurance provider.
It is not necessary to be referred by your GP and you can book an appointment with us directly. We do try to work with your GP where it is necessary to achieve the best outcome for you as the patient. (We will only contact GP with your prior consent)
Katrina is not a medically qualified doctor, but she is medically trained in all aspects pertaining to hair and scalp health.
With the current Covid-19 restrictions in place we do ask that you attend your appointment alone, unless you are attending with a child.
Yes, we do see children of any age. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult and the adult will be required to sign consent form before any treatment commences.

I started seeing Katrina in July 2020 to see if she could help with the severe damage that had been caused to my hair (or lack of hair) through cancer treatment. Katrina was so empathetic, professional and helpful she immediately made me feel comfortable and at ease. She suggested I use an appropriate ointment twice daily along with treatments with her at her clinic. The improvement, so far, is amazing - I am absolutely over the moon. I wish I could fast forward another six months to see what my hair will look like then! I am so pleased to have found Katrina and have no hesitations in recommending Katrina to anyone who had problems with their hair.
Katrina is an excellent trichologist. She is warm, kind, approachable, knowledgeable, informative and generous with her time and an expertise. She has also chatted with my hairdresser to advise her reference my scalp treatments and condition, so that I get the best and healthiest outcomes in the treatments that my hairdresser offer. Katrina has always got the shampoos and conditioners I need in an efficient way, and that Katrina explains to me how they work verbally and also with a detailed written breakdown on the use of the treatments. She has also advised me on what to do when my child has a dry scalp and was very sweet and caring towards my child. Katrina has made a big difference to my scalp condition she has really helped me deal with it Physically and emotionally. I would recommend anyone to go to see Katrina for any scalp conditions.
